When you trigger a 5-star drop on a limited banner, the game flips a coin. There is a 50% chance you get the limited promotional character (e.g., Raiden Shogun, Furina, Arlecchino). There is a 50% chance you get a "Standard Banner" character (e.g., Diluc, Mona, Qiqi). If you "lose" the 50/50 and get a Standard character, the game compensates you: your next 5-star pull is now 100% guaranteed to be the featured limited character.
